Sixmilebridge 4-16 OC Mills 3-11

Sixmilebridge travelled to the O Callaghans Mills pitch on a calm Saturday evening last for round 5 of the Clare Cup division 1A as the Kilkishen pitch is out of action due to the current clubhouse and hall development.

The 'Bridge were without a number of the team that started against Clarecastle in championship but nevertheless were able to call on able replacements.

Martin Conlon interestingly was in the Mills camp for this clash where he is the hurling coach for 2017.

The Bridge started very well but towards the end of the half allowed the Mills in for a goal that left it at 2-06 to 1-06 in favour of the 'Bridge at half time.

There were strong performances in lots of different areas but notably in defence Anthony Liddane at full back and Evan Mcinerney at corner back stood out.

Conor Deasy also played very well for the Bridge at wing forward while Alan Mulready at centre forward had a good old battle with Adrian O' Donovan and was outstanding on the evening and seemed to forever be on the ball chipping in with five points. Brian Corry looked threatening up front and finished the day with 2-02.

That's now 5 games unbeaten in the league, the Bridge getting the job done in the end winning comfortably 4-16 to 3-11.
