The Bridge continued their unbeaten run in the Clare cup with a 4 point win over neighbours Newmarket in O'Garney park on Saturday evening. Pa Mulready turned in a good shift in his new rle in the middle of the park chipping in with 2 points while Alex Moreys sideline cut from 60 yards was the highlight of the second half. Catahal Malone raised our third green flag near the end to secure the win.

Weekend Round up

Our Intermediate (I-1s) team had a good win over Ruan on Friday night at home on a score of 1-17 to 1-06 while our second Intermediate team (I-2s) defeated Broadford last night on a score of 3-16 to 1-17.

The U14 hurlers who are current Clare Feile champions qualified for the Clare U14A Championship final following a 0-15 to 1-04 win over St. Josephs Doora Barefield on Friday evening.

Tonight our Junior B team face Clarecastle at 8PM in O'Garney Park as they look to continue their unbeaten run in the league.

Hard luck to the Clare camogie team who were defeated by Dublin on Saturday. The Bridge camogie club were well represented and Clare will hope to bounce back when they play Waterford at home next Saturday.

Sixmilebridge Arena Festival

As we all know the club are undertaking a major futuristic project in the development of a indoor hurling arena at our training grounds at Cappagh Lodge. Huge enthusiasm has been shown by parents of the bridge Bucks academy and underage teams  to ensure the project is delivered as quick as possible and in order to start the project a festival is in the planning for December of this year.

The weekend kicks off on Friday night December 1st with Strictly Come Dancing. 16 couples are lined up to dance the night away and rumour has it the more competitive have started training already. Keep your eyes peeled for our launch night in September where our twinkle toed volunteers will be revealed.

On Saturday we have lined up not only one but TWO fantastic acts for your entertainment. *Trevor Smith & Friends in Low Places. The ultimate Garth Brooks Experience. Check them out on www.friendsinlowplaces.ie
*Up and coming star Jake Carter. Check him out on www.jakecarterofficial.com

On Sunday we'll finish off the weekend with a bang with SMB's Lip Sync Battle showing off all our local singing talent followed by brilliant local band The Black Fridays.

The whole weekend will take place in a purpose built marquee on site at the Club so all the easier for strolling home in the early hours.

Bridge Bucks

Our U6 bucks continue training every Friday at 6PM under the watchful eye of Martin Conlon. As Martin says training will never be cancelled and there is no such thing as bad weather - only bad gear! Numbers are still topping 50 despite the weather so we keep encouraging parents to help out. Dont stand on the sidelines as any little bit helps.

Last Friday the U6s had some great fun bouncing off tackle bags (view here) and what better man than Pat Hayes to be on the end of a bag as the boys flexed their muscles - Hayeso famously gave one of the greatest shoulders seen in the game of hurling back in 1996 when marking Joe Cooney of Sarsfields in the All Ireland Club semi final.

The U8 bucks continue training this week at 6PM on Monday in O'Garney Park and on Wednesday in Cappa Lodge. Club Senior star Caimin Morey and U13 Community games hurling captain from 1997 David O'Connor are doing a super coaching job with the boys and as always are really appreciative of the parents and coaches who are helping out.

Club Shop

The club shop opening hours this week are Thursday June 15th 6-8 instead of Friday due to Feile. Thanks to Linda who is doing a super job ensuring all Bridge supporters are kitted out head to toe in club colours.

Normal opening hours of Friday 6-8 will resume on Friday June 23rd.

Club Membership

A last push for club membership is underway with a deadline of Friday June 16th in place - Hopefully Clare will continue their success and have a good run for the summer and the ticket headache for members will be a good thing!

Club membership can be paid online here

Well done Fitzy & Redders

Congrats to Davy Fitz on a great achievement with Wexford on Saturday night as they defeated Kilkenny in the Leinster Hurling semi final. I'm sure Fitzy wont get carried away and Chill the beans for the Leinster final against Galway or Offaly.

Well done also to John Reddan who won an All IReland with Warwickshire when they defeated Leitrim in the Lory Meagher cup. Reddan created history by winning 3 All Ireland medals with 3 different counties. (Clare 1997, London 2011, Warwickshire 2017).
