U6s

Friday evening saw close on 40 of our U6 players travel across the Shannon to play Monaleen in a Blitz against the home side. Both clubs had 4 teams with every player playing 3 games full of skill and fun. Coach Martin Conlon had super help from parents who made a big effort to be ready for the 5:30 throw in. Following the game the rewards were tasty as all players and parents took part in a feast provided by Monaleen GAA. Thanks alot to our hosts who ensured a friendly welcome as always was provided. Training continues on Friday evening at 6PM with 2 more sessions remaining but Martin has some big surprises in store so make sure your there! 

U8s

On Saturday morning our U8 team were at home in O'Garney park for a blitz with visiting teams from St. Josephs Doora Barefield, Newtownshandrum (Cork) and Ahane (Limerick). Well done to coordinator supreme David 'O Connor who fitted out 6 pitches to ensure each of the 12 teams had plenty game time. The Bridge had 4 even teams in attendance and coaches were delighted with the progress made by the players as the year went on. Thanks to all the parents who attended and brought food for the party afterwards - the cup of tea is providing a great social aspect to the blitz scene when club coaches can bounce ideas off each other on nurturing the skills of the game.

Training continues tonight 6-7 at our Cappa Lodge training complex with 3 weeks remaining on the calendar before we finish up on Friday 13th October - County Final Weekend! Huge congrats to the seniors on qualifying for the County Final and a massive well done to U8 coach Caimin Morey who continues to inspire our U8 players with his dedication and words of wisdom.

County Finals are special ocassions for the club and we urge all players and families to get in the spirit of the ocassion and paint the place Saffron & Blue!
