The surrounding areas of O'Garney park were Choc a Bloc tonight as Monaleen U6 & U8 hurlers were in town for a Monster Blitz. The underfoot conditions in O'Garney park were like a carpet following resanding and spiking over the last week and its a real credit to head groundsman John Corbett and his team given the rain that has fallen the last week.

Both the Bridge U6 & U8 teams have visited Monaleen in recent weeks to keep up the great relationship built up between the clubs over the last few years and anyone in the village tonight had to be impressed with the skill levels on display in the 9 games running in tandem. Well done to U6 head coach Martin Conlon and U8 head coach David O'Connor for the organisation of the event and their coaching team who looked after all the teams tonight. Big Thanks to all the parents who attended and brought refreshments for our visitors and to Monaleen for making it out on time on a Monday evening.

For the record some stats on the night -

- 36 games were played

- 9 Pitches in use

- We had 105 boys togged in the Saffron & Blue of the Bridge with each playing in 4 games

- 44 U8s & 61 U6s will ensure the conveyor belt continues to keep producing for the club

- 24 coaches manned the sidelines - great to see the parents helping out with lining the fields and the tidy up afterwards.

Upcoming Training

Training for U8s continues on Wednesday evening at 6PM in Cappa Lodge and Monday following this with the final session on Friday October 13th.
