The Bridge Seniors maintained a very important tradition when bringing the Canon Hamilton Cup to the 2 schools in the parish today - Sixmilebridge & Kilmurry. Lead by captain Paidi Fitzpatrick and including Jamie Shanahan, Barry Fitzpatrick, Alan Mulready, Brian Corry, Conor Deasy and Brian Culbert (Coach), Deasy thanked all the students for their support and color over the 2 county final games. Fitzpatrick complimented all on how the schools were decorated in the lead up to the final and Corry asked them to continue the support on Sunday week when we face into a Munster Club campaign.

Paidi spoke of the importance of getting the balance right between school work and hurling and encouraged them to get the homework done as soon as they got home so they could get out for a few pucks with the hurley and ball before it gets dark. Alan Mulready spoke of how his school days were the best days and for everyone to enjoy them. Gavin White explained it was not so long ago when he was there in his school uniform staring up at Gilly dreaming of one day visiting the school with the cup while Jamie Shanahan tried to convince all that there was a picture of him somewhere in the school accepting his student of the year award back in the day.

A Big Thank you to Mr. Clohessy (Kilmurry) and Mr. Heagney (SMB) and all their staff who continue to promote the game of hurling in the schools and ensure the conveyor belt keeps on moving.
