U8 Hurling

Training continues every Monday and Wednesday at 6PM for our U8 hurlers with head coaches Caimin Morey and Martin Conlon putting all the lads and coaches through an hour of fun, skill and games. Thanks to John Reddin for the ice creams on Wednesday night in what was a real treat in the sweltering heat. John is now firm favourite with the boys for coach of the year 2018!

Newmarket was the venue on Saturday morning for our U8 teams blitz and the club was again represented with record numbers fielding 7 teams with over 50 players seeing action in 3 x 10 minute a side games. There was plenty of fun and light hearted  rivalry between class mates in Clonmoney as well as neighbours and relations from both parishes in what was a super morning of hurling action. Parteen, Tulla and Broadford completed the lineup and a big Thanks to the host club for organising and the refreshments after the blitz. Due to the bank holiday our U8s will get a rest day today but we hope to hear they were out practicing their skills themselves given the great weather we are having or drop down to the field to support the Seniors this afternoon. Official training is back on Wednesday at 6PM in Cappa Lodge so please remember to bring a drink to keep you hydrated.
