CLONLARA AND SIXMILEBRIDGE DO BATTLE THIS WEEKEND

Sixmilebridge and Clonlara do battle this weekend for the right to bring home the Canon Hamilton trophy.

The south east Clare neighbours face off in the Clare Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday, bidding to succeed Cratloe as county champions.

Niall Gilligan lines out for the Bridge, 18 years after he won an All Ireland title with Clare.

He says he's delighted to be there

One of the men that could be tasked with curtailing Gilligan on Sunday is Clonlara center back John Conlon.

He's also an All Ireland winner with Clare as he played a starring role in the 2013 victory.

On that occasion he lined out in the forwards, but Conlon says he has adapted to his new role.

THE BRIDGE LOOKING AT THIS WEEKEND GAME LIKE ANY OTHER

The Canon Hamilton will have a new home this weekend, with Sixmilebridge and Clonlara vying to be crowned Clare Senior Hurling Champions.

The Bridge last won the title in 2013.

Clonlara Center back John Conlon says they're eager to make the most of the opportunity to claim just a 3rd ever title.

Sixmilebridge have been the form team of 2015 so far, going unbeaten in league and championship to date.

En route to the the final, they've taken down both defending champions Cratloe and last years runners up Crusheen.

Bridge forward Niall Gilligan says they're just viewing Sunday as another game.
