The Bridge U12 Hurlers availed of a gap in their Co league schedule to take a trip to Galway on Saturday for some matches v Oranmore Maree and also top up their recent tans with some Galway beach life!
The lads, Coaches and Parents were hosted superbly by our friends in Oranmore Maree after a couple of matches with the tasty, proper Sausage rolls a huge favourite with everyone.

Afterwards the Bridge lads took advantage of the good weather and headed for nearby Ballyloughane beach, which is located next to the Liam Mellows club which of course is another Galway club with strong Bridge connections.
Those who took a dip reported the water to be warmer than your Lahinch, Kilkee and Fanore's of this world, so if you're looking for a quiet beach spot without the traffic hassle of getting to Salthill then Ballyloughane gets a thumbs up from the U12s.

See some pics attached including a competitive game of Hurling volleyball/tennis/keepy-uppy which was ably umpired by Kevin Phelan in his Wimbledon white shirt!
Thanks to former Galway goalie Richie Burke for organising Oranmore Maree for the matches and the heads up on the nearby beach.

The U12s have been tipping away nicely over the last couple of months in their Co league fixtures which are organised on a non-competitive basis. As in recent years, we are fielding 3 teams which ensures max game time for all players.
The group are improving all the time and right up there with the high standard that exists at this age group. They have one more league game to go and then we look forward to "Finals" day in Cusack Park where each of our 3 teams will play a team of similar level based on the results of their respective matches.
