"The cold winds from the mountains are calling soft to me"

The above are the opening lyrics of the famous song that put Shanagolden, County Limerick on the map for years but tonight they have hit the headlines again when one of their own, John Reddin was named Bridge Bucks U8 coach of the year for 2018. Reddin was narrowly beaten in 2017 for the award by Peter Kearney and is said to have trained really hard over the winter attending coaching courses up and down the country to try and improve his knowledge on the game. An engineer by trade his main focus this year has been on first touch control rather than In Touch Control which he runs on a daily basis. Joining up with the new Togging Out group which train Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings has stood to John also - Its the way to go lads for anyone looking to stay fit!

Head coach Conlon declared that there was only going to be one winner in 2018 - The team had 55 training sessions and John Reddin was at 57 of them .. Yes it doesn't add up but this is Limericks year in the hurling so we will shake hands and smile on this one knowing the boy racer John is one of our own.
