HURLING AND CAMOGIE have been added to a UNESCO list designed to raise the awareness of important cultures worldwide. Whats is more reason for us to celebrate is that our local GP and Clare Hurling Doctor Padraig Quinn has been instrumental in the campaign to gain recognition for our great sport.

Dr. Quinn with Pat Daly who led the campaign along with John Horan, Sinéad O' Hara, John Fenton, Aidan O'Sullivan, Louise Conlon, Claire Cave, Paul Rouse and Niall Austen heard at 6.10am Irish time this morning in Mauritius that their years of campaigning had been a success.

Congrats to all involved in getting recognition for our ancient games. Twill be some night partying in Mauritius tonight with the Jamaicans who also gained recognition for Reggae music.
