Brian Coady put 4 points between the sides with a good score from distance on 9 minutes. Tobin stretched the lead with a point from a free on 11 minutes. There was 6 between the sides after 12 minutes when Tobin scored a great point from out near the sideline. It was Tobin again on 13 minutes with another good point from play. Atlantic needed a score and good play from Daire Keane on 15 minutes created a chance for Thomas Cleary who raced through and fired an unstoppable shot to the back of the Suir net to reduce the lead to 4 points. Tobin replied with a pointed free on 16 minutes. Carey made it a 4 point game again with a long range free on 19 minutes. It was back to a 3 point game on 20 minutes when Sean Meaney got some space inside the 21 and fired over a good point. Suir finished the half strong and Aaron Dunne scored a good point after a strong run on 21 minutes. Coady fired over his second point of the match on 22 minutes. Atlantic looked to be in big trouble after 25 minutes when a free from Tobin dropped short and was brilliantly met in the air by David O'Brien who rattled the back of the Atlantic net. Dunne put 9 points between the sides with another good score on 27 minutes. Carey replied with a point from a free on 30 minutes to leave it Suir Engineering 2-10 Atlantic Aviation/Molex 1-5 at half time.

Atlantic needed a good start to the second half and got it inside the first minute when a shot from Sean O'Connor hit the crossbar and was finished to the net by Daire Keane. Dunne replied for Suir with another great score on the run after 34 minutes. John Walsh put 7 points between the sides with a point on 35 minutes. Cian Flanagan reduced the lead to 6 points on 37 minutes with a good score after making a long run up the field from the half back line. Joe McLoughney scored a great point from center field to stretch the lead to 7 again on 43 minutes. Three points in a row from frees from Carey had the lead down to 4 points with 5 minutes left and Atlantic were starting to put Suir under a lot of pressure. Tobin settled things down for Suir with a well struck free from a tight angle on 56 minutes. McLoughney put 6 between the sides with another good score from center field on 58 minutes. McLoughney fired over a great score from out near the sideline on 60 minutes and Tobin finished off the scoring with his seventh point of the match in injury time to round off a deserved victory on the night for the Waterford side.
