This Saturday will see the culmination of months of work, fundraising and training for many when we host Clares Fittest Superstars in O'Garney Park Sixmilebridge. The event is part of our fundraising drive to build our new indoor arena, a 60m long x 30m wide steel clad building that is 18, 000 square feet in size with an astro turf surface, viewing gallery and wall balls internal and external, the first of its kind in the west of Ireland.

Progress to date has see the construction of the steel framework and internal walls with the next phase in the coming weeks set to see the building roofed and and fully enclosed. The main aim of Clares Fittest Superstars has been two fold:

1) To raise money to continue the development of the arena

2) To provide a unique event for all the family to enjoy as well as embracing the clubs policy on health and fitness. 92 participants (23 teams of 4) will take part this Saturday many of whom will honestly say this has helped change their lifestyle and given them the boost to start exercising again and living a healthier lifestyle.

This Saturday gates will open at 2pm for 5 hours of family fun which includes:

- Bouncy castles

- Target wall with spot prizes

- Mini hang tough

- Ice cream van

- Food vendors

- Sweet shop

- Fully licensed bar

Presentation to the winners will take place in the hall at 9pm with music by local band The Black Fridays.

As part of the entry each team had to raise €2,000 - This saw lots of mini events taking place in the village organised and hosted by the teams themselves including 10K run, quiz night, boot camp, table quiz etc. and we are very grateful to all those who have supported these events to date. As a thank you to the community ticket prices for Saturday are cut by 50% as follows:

Adult/Student - €10

Child - Free (Must be accompanied by an adult)

Ticket selling evening Tuesday at 8 in the GAA hall or from any team manager or mentor and all committee or club members.
