As their season rapidly draws to a close, the U10s had a very busy weekend with a blitz on Saturday and a tournament on Sunday.

On Saturday morning Michael Cusacks (Galway) and Newmarket on Fergus were visitors to O'Garney Park for our final 'full squad' blitz of the season. On a morning better suited to ducks rahter than hurling there were great performances from all players in very tough conditions. Many thanks to our visiting clubs, especially Newmarket who filled in the last minute after another team had to cancel on us. Thanks also to our caterers on the day and the parents who brought refreshments for all.

On Sunday morning we sent a squad to Ballyhea (near Charleville) to take part in their Jack O'Sullivan Memorial Tournament. The weather gods shone on us with blue skies and near perfect conditions for hurling. The boys defeated 3 Cork clubs (Milford, Fermoy and hosts Ballyhea) in their Group games to setup a meeting with Newtownshandrum in the final. Despite a great battling performance from our lads, Shandrum proved too strong on this occasion to run out deserved winners.

All in all, this was a great mornings hurling and a nice way to finish off an epic autumn fixture list (much to the relief of the coaches and our travelling bands of parents who have racked up considerable mileage in the last 6 weeks). Many thanks to Ballyhea for inviting us down and for the great welcome they afforded us.

So, no more road trips for the 2019 Under 10 squad - with 2 weeks left in the season where we will be getting down to the serious business of our internal Sixmilebridge League and Wall Ball competition. More thrills and spills in store!
