Last Saturday morning our U7 and U8 squads hosted Clarinbridge and Eire Óg Nenagh for our last event of the year.

U7s

We had 3 U7 team with 3 from Clarinbridge and 2 from Nenagh playing out in Cappa Lodge with 3 games per team.

U8s

We fielded 5 U8 teams with 3 from Clarinbridge and 2 from Nenagh resulting in 5 pitches in O'Garney Park ensuring every team had 3 games.

We were very lucky with the conditions which resulted in some excellent hurling from all and the most satisfying thing for all coaches was the development of every single player from the first blitz in Caherlohan back in April. It is a testament to the coaching staff that the large numbers were maintained throughout the season with average attendance at training 45 kids.

The boys no have a break for the winter but we hope they will keep the eye in pucking around at home. They had a fantastic year playing teams from Galway, Limerick, Tipperary, Cork as well as the local leagues. Massive thanks to Martin Conlon for coordinating everything and his coaching team along with Edel who looked after administration. A Big thank you also to the parents who brought the boys to training and games as well as providing catering for the home events. While our main focus is always on fun and developing the skills of the young players we will always have the dream of seeing the boys one day climb aboard Eoin Gavins truck in the square as county champions.
