Senior Championship 2nd round Sixmilebridge v Truagh-Clonlara Saturday 8th Aug, Thrown in at 5.00pm Venue : Cratloe

Final Score Sixmilebride 1-7 to Truagh-Clonlara 3-16

On a very warm Sat afternoon with very rare scorching weather the ball was thrown in between two very eager teams with limited numbers attending the second round of the Senior Championship match at 5.00pm. Truagh were first to score a point in the first minute of the game. Sixmilebridge’s Chloe Morey was to open the score line for SMB in the 4th minute with point from great free taking accuracy. The Bridge were next to score a point in the 6th minute with another wonderful free taking point from Chloe Morey. Truagh were next to score points in the 7th, 8th 10th minute. Sixmilebridge levelled the game in the 20th minute with another point from Chloe Morey from play. Sixmilebridge then extended the game in the 21st minute with a rasping shot from Susan Fahy found the back of Truagh net in the 21st minute however this was short lived as Truagh replied with a point in the 22nd minute and then Truagh soon replied with a goal in the 25th minute. Susan Fahy was next to score with a point in the 25th minute however Truagh pucked out the ball and it made it’s way to SMB’s net with a goal been the outcome. Truagh continued with their scoring with points coming in the 27th, 28th and 30 minute of the game. Chloe Morey was to score the last point of the first half for SMB leaving the half time score as follows.

Half time SMB 1-5 to Truagh -Clonlara 2-8

The second half kicked off as tough and contested between the two teams with points from both teams in the 1st minute, Sixmilebridges Muireann Scanlon pointed a wonderful point from a play. Truagh started to make headway with points coming in the 6th, 7th 11th minute of the game. Sixmilebridge put up a tremendous battle winning many tackles and free’s however Truagh continued with their scoring with points coming in the 16th & 20th minute. Sixmilebridge Chloe Morey was next to score a point for the bridge in the 23rd minute however short lived as in the 24th minute of the game Truagh once again scored a goal in extending their lead from SMB. Truagh were to seal the game with points coming in the 26th, 27th and 30th minute of the game leaving the score.
