Sixmilebridge 6-12 Banner 1-7

The Junior Cs travelled to Ennis on Sunday morning 8th May 2016 to start their league campaign for 2016. The ‘Bridge side had to play with jerseys inside out to avoid the clash of colours. A good panel was present which is encouraging going forward, manager Jude Kearney having already put in the groundwork earlier in the year, getting fellas to training and challenge matches.

The Bridge led 4-6 to 1-4 at half time. Patrick Punch had a fine game bagging 2 goals and through his tenacity and tigerish work when not in possession he made another score. It was good to see Mark McInerney back also after injury.

Podge Flannery who was playing well suffered an injury in the first half and had to be carried off the field. Michael O' Halloran started his first competitive game in a Sixmilebridge jersey for 2 years and showed no sign of having taken a break.

Caimin Barret played well in the forwards, Michael O Halloran at midfield and Alan McCauley at centre back.
