Congratulations to the Bridge U14A Hurlers who were crowned Clare Feile Champions for the 15th time in Gurteen this evening.

In the Semi Final the Bridge defeated the Clarecastle magpies on a score of 3-03 to 0-05. After being outscored by 0-04 to 0-02 in the first half the Bridge boys rallied in the second half with a hat trick of goals to see them through to the final.

In the final at 6PM the Bridge faced the home side DooraBarefield who had defeated Corofin by 0-07 to 0-01 in their semi final.

The Bridge lead 1-03 to 0-03 at half time and finished the stronger hitting 4 more points and holding Doora scoreless in the second half.

After the game Captain victorius captain Dylan Downes was presented with the winning cup by Tony Brohan. The cup is named after a great hurling gael with close links to our own club as well as Wolfe Tones, namely Brendan Keane whose Grandson is now coming up the ranks at U8 with the Bridge. Well done to the team and coaches who put in a huge effort this year and got their just reward today. The team will now go in search of the double when they play Corofin this weekend in the Clare Championship semi final. Clarecastle and DooraBarefield meet in the other semi final.

For the Record:

This is the 15th Clare Feile title for the Bridge since their first win in 1975.

Titles: 1975, 79, 80, 84, 85, 92, 93, 95 (incl All Ireland), 96, 97, 04, 06, 08, 14, 2016
