Parish League Rd 2, Game 1

Kilmurry 6-16
St Marys 2-11

Kilmurry arrived early for this clash against the Patron St of Kilmurry, “St Marys”, and by the time they started to hurl the Saints were in full flight. Led by Camin Morey and Colin Kelly in the middle of the field, they powered into a 4-point lead in the early stages. Slowly but surely the Men from the home of the Maroon Colours, found their feet, and from there to half time it was nip and tuck all the way.

Goals from Tiernan Agnew and Adam Murray, were cancelled out by the fleet footed Derek Fahy operating at full forward for the Village people. Sean McNamara and Ciaran Hassett were in super form, in the middle third, while Conor Gilligan was showing signs that his uncle showed 3 and a half decades ago.

Half time score
Kilmurry 2-9
St Marys 2-7

Billy Maxwell operating at full back for the Saints, announced prior to throw in that he was just arriving back from a Birthday Party, at half time he wanted to put a motion forward to the Annual GAA Congress that, .not one, but 2 water breaks per half should be reintroduced.

The more the second half progressed, the more St Marys regressed, and with Goals from Tiernan 2, Adam Murray and Gary O Callaghan 1 each, Brian Carey, Morgan O Connell, Cian Hogan, and others, it was a comprehensive victory for Kilmurry in the end.
