Our U15 hurlers proved no task was too big today when they rolled up their sleeves and they got down and dirty washing cars. The leading image above is of our new Club Chairman Syl O'Connor getting special attention from the boys with his car coming in as dirty as an old style corner back and leaving as clean as a referees whistle.

The U15 players and management team would like to express huge thanks to all that came out to support the event. Sixmilebridge GAA club have a massive community spirit and this was clear to see today.

The event was a huge success and the players had great fun too. Today was a fundraising venture and a bonding session that will help to build good team spirit. All the players must be commended on the huge turnout and the attitude and application they showed. Days like this will help to develop good attitude and application on the field of play also.

This initiative was coordinated by Kevin Phelan and the U15 management team. Big thanks to Kevin for setting up a professional service, word quickly spread around and there were queues of cars all the way up to Beechwood Grove.

We had great support throughout the day with lads travelling from Offaly for a good scrub:

There was a queue of lads to wash local hero and Morey Movement proprietor Seashna Moreys Car - His dashing passenger looks to have a fear the hose would be turned back on before he got the window up or perhaps she's camera shy!

While Holla had the hurley out in case the boys missed a spot on his MO pride and joy

A day like this couldn’t run as smooth without the help of many people.

Thanks to Eoin Gavin Transport for providing the power washing equipment. Thanks to Terry Gavin and Cian Mullins for all their hard work.

Huge thanks to Conor Murphy for suppling the traffic film remover and sprayers.

Thanks also to the clubs Communications team for creating our marketing material and for help in promoting the event through ClubZap and our Social media channels.

Many thanks also to Christine McNamara, Jean Chaplin, Laura McInerney and Ann Sweeney for making sure everyone was well fed all day.

The funds generated will help to provide all of the training needs for the year.

As a Thank you to all the boys parents the coaches gave them their Saturday bath at the clubhouse with a good power hosing - they were happy to go with out their rubber ducks for one week,
