Last Sunday was a busy afternoon for the U13 hurlers when they hosted both Doora Barefield and Ballybrown in back-to-back challenge matches.

First to play was our Academy team who took on the DB Academy. A slow start by our lads saw them trailing by a couple of goals after 15 mins. They settled into the game after that but unfortunately, couldn't quite catch the Doora lads despite battling gamely to the end. Notable performances on this team included Dylan Lee in the full back line, Aodan Flannery in the middle of the field, Eoin White in the forwards with captain Mikey Lyons getting amongst the goals.

A quick turnaround saw the A team get started against a strong Ballybrown outfit. Captained by Eoin Murphy, the Bridge lads trailed by 3 points at half time. The second half was an epic battle with both sides exchanging the lead several times with the Bridge winning out after a strong finish. Some great performances throughout the field for this game including Harry Loughnane at corner back, centre back Ross Kearney and Tommy Healy in midfield.

The team are looking forward to a rematch in Ballybrown in the coming weeks.
