The 2015 Convention of Clare GAA saw a number of changes at the top table for the coming year.

O'Callaghans Mills clubman Joe Cooney was elected as chairman of Clare GAA by delegates at last nights convention.

Cooraclare's PJ McGuane was voted in to take over from Cooney as vice chairman of the board.

In his first address as chairman, Mr Cooney informed delegates he would be in favour of conducting yearly reviews with intercounty managers, while also vowing to address Clare GAA's approach to the changing multimedia era.

Treasurer Bernard Keane outlined his concern about the board's finances, warning that they could be in the red in 12 months time if its not addressed urgently.

All other officers were returned to their positions, but there were new Munster council delegates elected, in the form of Naomh Eoin's Kieran Keating who resides in Sixmilebridge and is an officer in the Minor Club and Inagh/Kilnamona's PJ Kelly

Among the motions passed on the night were calls for all games to be shown on free to air television, a committee to be established to look at ways of improving football in the county, and for steps to be taken to address the decline of Scor in recent years.

All games motions will be dealt with at a meeting in mid January.
