After 4 Rounds of the Parish League, the Junior League section of the competition has turned out to be the most competitive with each team equal on 4 points each. It is all to play for in the final 2 games of this section. Management teams will be looking for every advantage to get their team over the line. Indeed their are no shrinking violets on the sidelines for the Junior competition, with PJ Fitzpatrick and Syl O' Conor managing the Mountain, Mikey Corbett and Tom Sheehan with the Village, Brendan O' Callaghan, Declan Sheedy and Tom Keogh with Kilmurry and Pat Chaplin and Terence Chaplin with Cappa.

Hurling well in the Junior section are David O' Conor who is scoring at will, Fiachra O' Bhraoin, Dan Chaplin, Seamus O' Connell. Gary O' Callaghan scored the goal of the night in the 4th round with an absolute cracker to the top corner.

On the Refereeing side, the club have drafted in some strong characters to manage the tensions, their differing styles however have been scrutinized from the sidelines though and some calls have been fiercely contested by management teams. Referees to date have included Kevin Corry, John O' Meara, Brian Culbert, Mikey Corbett, Sham Carr, Sean Stack, Kieran Liddane, Alan Whyte, Niall Gilligan.

In the Senior section, the Mountain are on top with 7 points, and remain the only unbeaten team in the competition to date. They are followed closely on 5 points by Kilmurry. Cappa and the Village will need a strong finish in their final 2 games in order to reach the Senior Final. Alan Mulready had the goal of the night in the 4th round with a sublimely placed finish from distance. Hurling well in the senior ranks are Brian Corry, Christy Carey, Cathal Lynch and Ronan Tuohy. Management teams again have been competitive.

Overall some fantastic matches of hurling have been played and whilst competitive, the games are being played in the right spirit. The Mountain are currently top of the Overall Parish League with the combined points of their senior and junior teams. Tactically it seems teams are still getting to grips with how to setup and whether to play zonally or man to man, management teams are still debating the best approach but one thing is for certain, a good goalkeeper is a must in this competion and there have been some excellent displays to date. Colm Fitzgerald and Cian Hogan had fantastic siplays of shot stopping last week whilst this week Brian Culbert introduced the fly goalkeeper to hurling as he made his way up the field, however Ronan Hayes put him back in his box fairly lively the next time he started to roam!

The Top Scorer Charts are still being compiled due to the high scoring, this may take a while!

Round 5 fixture dates and times will be published shortly. There will be a break next week for the club social.
