.Sixmilebridge GAA Club along with the O'Halloran & Loughnane families are delighted to announce the inception of a new "Club Player of the Year" award which will be awarded to the top adult hurling player in the club on an annual basis. The winner of this award will be in receipt of a newly commissioned cup kindly donated by the families, in memory of Seamus and his daughter Bridget who have both sadly passed to their eternal rest in recent times.

Seamus and Bridget both played very active roles in our club and their legacy lives on through those they have left behind. Three of Seamus' children, Bridget’s siblings, Gerry, Michael and Anne are hugely active in coaching, playing and committees in both the Hurling and Camogie clubs, while Seamus’ wife Caroline, Bridget’s mam, and Bridget’s other two siblings Mary and Paul are great supporters of Sixmilebridge GAA. Bridget’s son Harry is also a vital member of our U13 squad while Harry’s sister Neila and brother Aaron are regularly seen honing their skills in our newly opened Arena with their dad Barry.

The inaugural winner of the award will be announced at the upcoming club social in the Woodstock Ennis on Friday coming 17th Feb. Click HERE for ticket information.

The 10 players in contention for the 2022 Player of the Year award are as follows:

Junior C: Conor Morey & Robert Conlon

Junior B: Paul Fitzpatrick & David O Connor

Intermediate: Aidan Quilligan & Cathaoir Agnew
