Sixmilebridge Academy 3-6 Eire Og Academy 6-2

The Academy team made the trip to Eire Og last Thursday (30th) for their second-round clash against the Townies. Things were even in the first 20 mins but a purple patch for Eire Og saw them score four goals in a 10-minute spell and lead by 10 points at the break (4-2 to 0-4).

The Bridge bounced back straight after half time and early goals from Charlie Keane and Conor Keogh saw the lead reduced to 2 points within ten minutes of the restart. Unfortunately, Eire Og extended their lead with a goal against the run of play and eventually ran out 6-2 to 3-6 winners.

Good performances for Sixmilebridge on the night included Dean Carr, Dylan Lee and Jack McNamara.

Sixmilebridge A 1-13 Inagh Kilnamona A 2-7

The A team hosted Inagh Kilnamona in the second round of their championship in O'Garney Park on Monday night with both teams hoping to kickstart their campaigns after opening round defeats.

Playing with a strong breeze Sixmilebridge took control in the closing 10 minutes of the first half with Rory Chaplin in fine form from placed balls, a Stephen Gavin goal and a couple of points from Cathal Ryan seeing them take a 1-9 to 0-3 lead into halftime.

As expected, IK stormed into the second half and had narrowed the lead to 3 points with 10 minutes to go. However, the Bridge lads maintained that lead until the end to secure the victory.

Good performances in this game from Dylan Keogh, Cian McInerney and Luke Deegan.
