The Minor Club urges all 'Bridge supporters to come along and support our U14A shield team in their county final!!!
Our ‘Bridge U14 Hurlers are enjoying a very busy period of hurling at the moment; following on from their recent success in the U14 Féile Na nGael competition. This Monday evening sees the turn of our U14A Shield Team who will go in chase of the 2017 U14A Bord Na nÓg Shield when they take on Scariff/Ogonnelloe in Broadford. The game throws in at 4:00pm.
The Bridge had a good run in the group stages, winning three out of their five matches. When these two sides met earlier in the year, our Hurlers narrowly missed out on victory loosing by a single point. Monday evening is promised to be another tight affair, however with our ‘Bridge boys never say die attitude we hope this will see them over the line in the finish.
Best of luck to the players and management and hopefully they'll bring home the shield.
Also just an acknowledgment to Bord Na nÒg on organising the competition as it promotes Hurling by giving meaningful games to all players in the U14 age group. This helps us as a Club to develop more players in their teenage years as obviously young players vary in their Physical and Skills development at this time in their lives.
There are many examples of excellent Senior players in our own Club and other clubs, who benefitted from being given time to develop in their Teenage years and playing matches is the best way of doing this.
