Sixmilebridge Junior As lose out to Barefield in league opener

The Bridge started their Junior A league campaign away to Doora Barefield last Saturday. The last time these sides met was last years junior A regulation playoff. The Bridge won that match by a single point. Sadly this time Doora got their revenge by beating the Bridge by 3pts. Doora, against the wind started the match brightly by scoring 3 quick points in the first few minutes. Tommy Liddy responded for the Bridge by scoring 3 points from frees. Shortly after this Doora got their first goal with a well worked move from midfield. The Bridge and Doora exchanged points to leave the score at 0-05 to 1-05. Just before the end of the first half a dangerous long ball from midfield deceived the bridge defence and ended up in the bridge net. This left the half time score Bridge 0-05 to Doora 2-05.

The next match up for the Bridge is the Mills on Saturday week. 

Best for the Bridge was Mark Quinn, Donald Devanney and Tommy Liddy. Best for Doora was Kenneth Kennedy and Damien Kennedy.
