Sixmilebridge were well represented on the pitch and in the stands in Pairc Ui Chaoimh last Sunday.  While Clare supporters were heavily outnumbered, the team was roared on by 75 members of our Under 10 and 12 panels.

Buses left the village before 9am with the U10's travelling to Midleton, and the U12's heading to Sarsfields in Glanmire to play a series of games.

Both panels acquitted themselves very well against strong opposition.

After a great feed of sandwiches, buns, tea and coffee from the host clubs, both panels bussed into Cork and met up outside Pairc Ui Chaoimh.  With a feat of organization worthy of the US Marines, the players were corralled successfully into the stadium - no man left behind!

We had great seats in the North Stand and anyone watching on television could not miss the splash of saffron and blue amongst the sea of red.

While the result was disappointing, the players enjoyed an exciting match and were especially vocal whenever Seandha, Cathal or Jamie got on the ball.

On the way home both panels stopped off in the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown for the all important team banquet (nuggets, sausages, chips and ice cream) before eventually rolling back into the 'Bridge at 10pm - happy and tired.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that we have players who are in different classes and schools and may not know each other too well - days out like this really help to bring them together as a team.

Many thanks to Mike O'Halloran, Orla Chaplin and Kieran Keating for helping with arrangements\tickets\buses and to all the coaches who travelled on the day to ensure an enjoyable (and safe) outing for all.  Also, big thank you to our excellent hosts in Midleton and Sarsfields.
