It was a busy week for our U13 Squad with the boys involved in 4 games over 6 days. First up was the top of the table clash in the 13 A Championship between Sixmilebridge and Ballyea on Friday last (July 2) in O'Garney Park. This was a tight affair between 2 evenly matched teams. Ballyea eventually ran out winners on a scoreline of SMB 3-05 to Ballyea's 2-10. Best for SMB were Dylan Keogh and Conor Peacock with Zak Phelan and Rory Chaplin supplying the scores.

The following day the Academy team travelled to Kilmaley hoping to end a recent run of narrow defeats. The boys put up a great performance and were in the lead at the 3rd waterbreak. Unfortunately, a strong closing quarter from Kilmaley saw SMB lose out on a scoreline of 4-6 to 5-0. Strong performances in this game came from Cathal Ryan, Ross Kearney and Cillian O'Connor.

On Sunday last our 2009 born players travelled to Galway for a challenge game against Beagh and on Wednesday our Academy team made the short trip into Shannon for a challenge game against Wolfe Tones.

The squad had no Championship games this weekend. Next up:

  • Fri 16th - A Team play away to Clonlara
  • Sat 17th - Academy team host St Josephs Doora Barefield.
