Tues 17th May 2022, in Sixmilebridge.

Our Blue team captained by Sarah Conlon and Yellow team captained by Caoimhe Liddane took to O'Garney Park on Tuesday evening to play Kilmaley.

The Blue team got a dream start with scores from Sarah Conroy (1 goal) and Sarah Conlon (1-2) leaving us in the lead at half time, SMB 2-2 to Kilmaley 0-2.In the second half, Kilmaley, aided by a very strong wind, piled on the pressure and out scored us to win the game. Final score SMB 2-2, Kilmaley 4-4.

We had some fine displays of camogie from our backs, Clara Rose Wrixon-Todd, Emily Leyden, Lily Flannery, Grace McNamara, Lucy Conroy and Rachel Chaplin. Our midfield players, Alice Lyons, Anna Gilligan, Daisy Flynn and Lily O'Sullivan battled so hard, never giving up, while our forwards Sarah Conroy, Emma Chaplin, Maeve Scanlon, Tegan O'Connor, led by our captain Sarah Conlon, all played super. Under severe second half pressure, our goalie Sarah Farrell put in a player of the match performance, making some fantastic saves. Well done to all the girls for a very tough, hard fought battle.

The Yellow team took the game to Kilmaley from early on and registered 4 points scored by Anna Madigan, Darcy O Hara, Caoimhe Liddane and Brooke O Connell. Kilmaley responded with a pointed free before half time. That left the scoreline 4 points to 1 in favour of the Bridge.

Bridge backs again led by Aizea Keane, Meabh Murphy, Roisin Moloney, Sarah o Grady and Eimear White in goals kept Kilmaley at bay in this half. Aoibheann Chaplin and Hanna Kiesel were getting on a lot of ball in the middle of the field.

The 2nd half was a tight encounter. Kilmaley raided for 3 goals while an Aishling White point from play and another from Darcy O Hara left the final score Kilmaley 3-2 SMB 0-6. Jamila Niami Sarah Cleary Amy Fitzpatrick and Rachel Pyne worked tirelessly throughout also.

A superb performance from these girls who have a bright future of Camogie ahead of them.
