On Thursday evening, our U12s played their final league match of 2022 against Wolfe Tones.

The team, captained by Mary Donnellan, put in a powerful and skillful performance from throw in with a point in the first minute by Alice Lyons, followed quickly by another point from Lucy Conroy. Two minutes later, Sarah O Grady was on target with a superb goal. Lucy Conroy split the posts twice more during the first half, and Alice Lyons popped the ball over again. Just before the half time whistle, Aizea Keane added another point to the scoreboard.

The second half began with Alice Lyons rattling the net and following it up with a point. Brooke O Connell added two goals and a point to the tally in this half and Lucy Conroy broke thought the Wolfe Tones defence to score a powerful goal.

Sarah Conroy, in goals ensured that many shots in her direction were cleared and she was aided by Daisy Flynn, Mary Donnellan and Sarah Cleary in the full back line. Centre back, Brooke O Connell, aided by Grace McNamara and Roisin Moloney provided another great line on defence. Anna Madigan and Anna Gilligan worked tirelessly in midfield for the entire 50 minutes, with powerful striking right into the full forwards Sarah O'Grady and Emily Leyden with Maeve Scanlon and Rachel Pyne in the corner forward position. Amy Fitzpatrick, with her powerful strike kept the ball moving towards the Wolfe Tones goal throughout the game. Definitely a player to watch! Alice Lyons, Lucy Conroy and Aizea Keane made up our half forward line and were on target with their points, ensuring a comfortable win for the 'Bridge u12s.
