After a record 62 training sessions the 2012 & 2013 girls took part in their second internal skills competition last Tuesday.

The skills assessed were jab lift, striking off both sides on the ground and in the air, catching, batting, hand passing and brick flick.

The coaches were delighted by the improvement in scores from the first skills night held last June. Of course this was no surprise given the practice the girls have been putting in all season.

The highest score in a number of skills did not always go to one of the prize winners so well done to all the girls who took part and hard look to those who just missed out on prizes.

U10 Winners

  • 1st Rachel Chaplin
  • 2nd Roisin Liddane
  • 3rd Maggy Fitzgibbon

U9 Winners

  • 1st Leah O' Doherty
  • 2nd Emily Phelan
  • 3rd Emily Cleary

Most improved score from night 1

  • 1st Ellie Murphy
  • 2nd Aisling Merriman

The 8 winners all received a voucher for the club shop, a club crested sliotar and also had a choice from hurley grips, Clare snoods, free swims at Shannon Leisure Centre, player-manager in training or choice of fun game in training.

Míle buíochas to the Camogie Club for sponsoring the prizes.

Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who took part.
