The death has occurred of Flan Mc Namara, Rose Cottage, Cappa, Sixmilebridge, Clare, peacefully in University Hospital Limerick.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family, wife Christina, daughter Christabel, son-in-law Adrian, sisters Helen, Ronnie and Frances, brothers James and Joe, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in Mc Mahons Funeral Home, Sixmilebridge this Tuesday (28th February) from 6pm to 7:30pm followed by removal to St. Finnachta's Church. Funeral Mass Wednesday (1st March) at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Ballysheen Cemetery.

Flan would have been a Gaa referee for a number of years in Clare and in his later years would have been seen as an umpire regularly. He also worked at Clare Gaa in Cusack Park and regularly did the old Scoreboard on match days at the Aldi end. Flan would have been well known for his cool, calm demeanor and the smell of tobacco from his old pipe. Flan would have played minor hurling with Sixmilebridge in his younger years.


There will be a guard of honour outside the Church a 730pm this evening.
