27 April 2023 - Sixmilebridge Academy 6-9 Clonlara Academy 4-9

The final round of the group stage of their championship saw our Academy team make the trip to Clonlara. With 3 teams level at the top of the table on 4 points each, the Bridge needed a win to ensure their place in the semi-final.

A strong first half saw our lads leading by 10 points at one stage. However, two quick goals right before half time by a dogged Clonlara outfit meant the Bridge went in with a 4 point lead. A Charlie Keane goal early in the second half extended our lead and the team saw the game out from there.

Our forwards were in fine form on the night with Charlie Keane, Conor Gleeson and Cian McInerney getting goals. Darragh Sweeney, Evan Madigan and Cillian O'Connor put in good defensive performances and there were notable contributions from subs Liam Sweeney, Anthony Bender, Aodan Flannery, Jack Lynch and Dylan Tobin.

The result see's our Academy squad top their group with 3 wins from 4 and will play the Group 2 runners-up in the semi-final.

01 May 2023 - Sixmilebridge A 3-17 Ballyea A 4-14

Ballyea were in town for round 4 of the A championship. These two teams have some great battles over the last few years and this match was no exception. Sixmilebridge went into the break with a 3-10 to 0-7 lead with the goals coming from the full forward line of Stephen Gavin, Conor Gleeson and Donal O'Leary.

A goal right after the restart showed the Ballyea were here for business. After that it was helter skleter stuff with the visitors gradually chipping away at the lead and goaling an injury time 21 yard free to level proceedings.

Good performances in this game from Stephen Gavin (1-6 from play), Cian McInerney and Jack McNamara.
