30 girls and boys from 3rd & 4th class in Kilmurry N.S. travelled The Evicted GAA Field on Tuesday to join up with 75 children from Bodyke and Tuamgraney primary schools for the end of year finale hurling and camogie blitz.

Excitement had been building in all 3 schools for the last number of weeks in the lead up with one child saying it was like waiting for Santa all over again.

The children from each school were placed on mixed teams to allow for more touches and the overall aim for all children to make new friends while playing amongst their own ability and have a more enjoyable experience.

The 56 girls and boys from 3rd-6th classes made 8 teams of 7 a side who played 3 games of 15 minutes each, across 4 pitches as part of the National Cumann na mBunscol week, displaying their skills worked on during the year as part of the clubs primary schools coaching programme.

There were 2 similar pitches for 1st & 2nd from Bodyke & Tuamgraney while juniors and seniors were in the astro for 4v4 hurling/camogie matches and some fun games.

Mile buíochas to school principals, teachers and support staff, all the Bodyke club volunteers and underage players who refereed and assisted on the day and to Schools Coaching Officer Jimmy Corbett for coordinating the blitz.
