Junior B Championship, Group Game, Rd. 4
Sixmilebridge 1-9
Feakle 1-9
Venue - Kilkishen
In atrocious conditions in Kilkishen our fourth team faced Feakle on Sunday. The rain was incessant and necessitated the use of 2 sets of jerseys on the day. This was a final group game and a win would have sent the 'Bridge through to the quarter finals. On the day however in the tough conditions scores were hard to come by.
At half time the Bridge found themselves 2 points adrift at Smb 0-5 v Feakle 1-4, but a determined performance over the course of the hour saw Mikey Corbetts men keep in contention. A crucial goal in the second half finished superbly by the skilful Robbie Corry ensured that the Bridge men went home undefeated. Danny Dunne at full back played well in an unfamiliar position for him, as did John Hogan who has been very good all year at center back. It was a day for back men and Ian Collins and Ferdia O' Lionain were solida ll day in the half back line. Up front Stiofan Fitzpatrick had another good game.
The fate of this team now rests in the final group game between Smith O' Briens and Feakle this comong weekend. Smith O' Briens are unbetaen in this group to date and indeed a Smith O' Briens win will send the 'Bridge through to the quarter finals.
