Sixmilebridge U14 girls travelled to Kilmaley for an invite to their Camogie 40year Anniversary Tournament.
The girls played their first game against Sarsfield Co.Cork. With their first win under their belt, next up was Clarenbridge, Co. Galway, a tough battle between these two teams, however, the Bridge girls came out on top, with a 2nd win. Next up was the hosts Kilmaley, in true Clare competitive style, the girls played a tough hard battled game with Kilmaley winning out.
With Kilmaley finishing top, and Sixmilebridge finishing 2nd, they went onto the Semi-finals. Next up was St. Colmans Gort, after 2 wins earlier this year in challenge games, it was Gort's turn to come out on top this time round.
Our girls were now through to the Shield final against Inagh-Kilnamona. In a very hard fought battled game, there was very little to divide these teams in the final. The Bridge girls gave it their all to ensure this game wasn't going to slip away on them. On the final whistle it was Sixmilebridge that came out on top, with a Shield Final victory. Kilmaley the hosts winning the Cup Final against Gort.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Kilmaley Camogie Club for the invite to their tournament.
There was some very close games across the 2 sides of the tournament with fantastic camogie shown throughout. It was a very enjoyable day of camogie, the future of camogie is bright, with the highest standards of skill throughout the day. Thank you to all the clubs we played and met along the way.
