While those outside were keeping an eye on scary storm warnings, 50 boys and girls were hurling like it was the middle of summer inside the Arena this week to enjoy the Minor Clubs Halloween Camp.
The camp catered for 6 to 13 year olds who travelled from both inside and outside the parish to avail of the excellent coaching on offer.
The players took part in hurling skills, fundamental movement skills, relays and fun games such as haunted house and ghostbusters with break times staggered to allow for matches indoors.
A special mention to coaches Roisin O' Grady, Aoibhinn McNamara, Matthew O' Halloran, Kevin Lynch, Fidelma Kearney, Aidan O' Connor, Cilian O' Connor, Carmel Peacock & May Corbett who gave up their holidays or took time off work to make the camp possible.
Head coach Jimmy Corbett said "We are very lucky to have so many talented coaches in the parish available for the camp. Their enthusiasm and session plans kept the players active and entertained all week. Thanks to all parents, grandparents etc. who registered and brought the children to and from the camp."
Thanks to the behind the scenes team led by John Corbett for having the pitch, dressing rooms and toilets ready for the camp and to Clubzap and the Minor Club Committee for their assistance.
The clash of the ash was also to be heard with the clubs hurley swap box providing useful for replacement hurleys.
