The domestic hurling season gets underway this weekend with the start of the Clare U21 Hurling Championships and the Bridge are in action on Sunday against Newmarket. 2016 Junior A championship manager Alan Whyte has taken charge this year and will be hopeful preparations go to plan on Sunday in Gurteen at 11:30AM.
Last years beaten finalists Feakle/Killanena take on 2015 champions Kilmaley in the opener of the A championship tomorrow when they meet in Clonlara with a 4pm start.
There are two games in the B Championship on Saturday when Crusheen/Tubber meet Cratloe in Sixmilebridge at 4pm while it’s a 2.30pm start in Tulla as Clarecastle meet Broadford.
On Sunday, Whitegate is the venue as Scariff-Ogonnelloe play Smith O’Brien’s at 11am.
In the C championship, there are two games at 2pm on Saturday. Parteen/Meelick face Ruan in Feakle while Eire Óg & Corofin meet in Meelick.
At 4pm, Ennistymon meet Scariff in Corofin.
On Sunday, Kilmaley meet Whitegate in Ogonnelloe at 11am
Extra time will be played in all games in the event of a draw.
