It was with great sadness we heard of the passing of Jim Chaplin (Cappa) on Tuesday last. Jim was a huge supporter of all club teams and a wonderful volunteer for any projects going on in the club.

Jim Chaplin laying the blocks for the handball alley , with Ian Chaplin on the scaffold tending, Sean Meehan laying up the mortar on the shovel and Tom Quinn on the right coming to inspect the works.

While he has passed he will always be remembered when we look at the Main Hall, Front Wall at O'Garney Park, Handball Alley and Cappa Lodge Dressing Rooms all of which Jim was part of the construction team for.

At one of the many Sale of Work days held at the field.

Condolences to his wife Josephine, sons Ian (Club PRO), Adrian (Senior Team Coach) and daughter Thelma and to all the Chaplin family and friends. Jim's brothers Willie (Rip) and Mick (Rip) were great supporters and volunteers with the club and Jim's surviving brother Pat is currently the clubs President. Many of Jim's nephews and nieces have hurled with distinction with the club.

The club did a Guard of honor for Jim at the Funeral removal as an appreciation for the wonderful facilities he has left in our care and the family have expressed their thanks to the club for the guard of honour and also to all those who attended the funeral or reached out with kind messages. Jim got a great send off
