Sixmilebridge travelled to Clooney-Quin on Wednesday 12th April for the second round game in the U14B championship. The man in charge was Jim Hickey. It was a dry evening with a cross field breeze. Sixmilebridge on this occasion was captained by Megan Gaule.
Clooney opened their score line with a point after 3 minutes. Seven minutes in Sinead Hogan had to be replaced by Lily Mahon due to a hand injury. Clooney Quin went on to find goal, before Emma Stanley returned the favour at the opposite end opening the 'Bridge score sheet. Clooney added four more points. Jessica Williams pointed when she converted a free. Aoibhín McNamara went on to find target in the Clooney net to conclude the half. The half time score was 2-5 to 2-1 in Clooney-Quin's favour.
In the second half Sixmilebridge fought hard McNamara split the posts which she later followed up with a goal, but Clooney had the same idea. Williams converted a placed ball. Clooney pointed several more before McNamara found target in the Clooney net for the last time. When the full time whistle blew Clooney had the win on a score line of 3-09, Sixmilebridge 4-3.
