The club wish to express condolences to the family of recently deceased PJ Keane. Pajo was a noted sportsman from the village and excelled in hurling, soccer and even played football underage with Newmarket.
One of his early successes was with the Bridge at U16B in 1963 where he played at wing back, one of first competitions won at underage by the club.
He later played and won intermediate, Clare Cup and senior championships with the Bridge most notably playing on the 1977 final which was the first County senior championship won by the club. He also won an intermediate championship in 1971 as the club pushed on to senior ranks. He was noted for his natural athleticsm and skill.
