The final championship round game took place in saturated conditions making the sliotar stop in its tracks on many occasions. Kilkishen/Bodyke started the better, pointing within a minute of throw in. They then went on add two more one from a converted a free , the other from play, before they found target on goal after a rebound. Kilkishen then added two more points to their tally. Sarah Loughnane was first to register a score for the 'Bridge when she rattled the net from a placed ball. Their delight was short lived though after a blocked point ended up in the Sixmilebridge goals. Loughnane split the posts before the half making it, 2-6 to 1-1 in Kilkishen/Bodyke's favour. In the second half both teams battled hard, Kilkishen/Bodyke were first to score minutes in when they found target in the Bridge net once more. Sixmilebridge bounced back, Saoirse Young made a pass to her sister Rosie before it made its way to Mary O'Connor who got a much need goal. Finia O'Brien took a much deserved score when she popped it over the bar. Kilkishen/Bodyke pointed from a free. Olivia Phelan scored her first of the day when she put it over the bar after receiving a pass from O'Brien. Loughnane made her mark on the scoreline once more when she rattled the net for the second time. Phelan went on to also found target in the Kilkishen/Bodyke net making it a one point game. Despite many attempts by the Bridge in the final minutes it was not to be. Impressive performances from Finia O'Brien, Saoirse Young and Emma Kennedy. The loss puts us third in the group missing out on a semi final cup spot.
