Following on from our recently organised Indoor hurling blitz it was the real deal for schools in the last week as the regional finals of INTO 7s took part.

The format of the competition sees 6 regional finals involving 6 schools - these are divided into 2 groups of 3 with each school playing 2 x 8 minutes a side games. The winner of each group of 3 will meet in the regional final and the winner of this will go on to the County finals later this month.

Last week Kilmurry were in action and topped their group with 2 wins including a exciting win over Boston/Tubber before losing out in the final to a strong Crusheen side.
On Thursday this week Newmarket was the venue for 6 schools with the groups as follows:
Sixmilebridge NS, St. Aidans, Newmarket NS
Clonmoney, Cratloe, Kilkishen

The Bridge had a good win over St. Aidans in game 1 before facing Newmarket in Game 2. The game was in the melting pot half way through the second half before a couple of quick goals for Newmarket saw them run out winners and top the group.
In the second group Clonmoney defeated Kilkishen and Cratloe to setup a local derby final against Newmarket. In the final Clonmoney lead 2-02 to 0-02 at half time before running out winners on a score of 3-06 to 1-03.

Well done to all our boys in Sixmilebridge NS, Kilmurry, St. Aidans (JJ) and Clonmoney (Matthew) on a great mornings hurling. Best of luck to the Clonmoney team who go onto the county final which is pencilled in for the coming weeks and provisionally fixed for the Bridge.
Thanks again to all the teachers who continue to cultivate a culture of sport and hurling in their schools for all our young kids.
