Honouring Paddy Begley
The unveiling of a Plaque in honour of Paddy Begley’s lifelong service to this parish will take place in the Square on Saturday next, May 10th at 11.00 am.
Paddy served as a County Councillor (1946-1960) and was a committed community activist and a loyal GAA servant for over 50 years. In fact, he served as GAA club secretary/treasurer of the Sixmilebridge Gaa Club for over 30 years and trained our teams when contesting our first senior county hurling finals in 1952 & 1962. While unsuccessful, these teams inspired the next generation to achieve a first senior title in 1977.
All are most welcome to attend.
