Intermediates Draw with Ruan in Championship Opener
Sixmilebridge 3-14
Ruan 1-20
Venue - Cratloe
Referee - Gus O'Callaghan
Our Intermediates were in action on Sunday in Cratloie against Ruan, a side that had sent the Bridge out of the Intermediate championship last year at the Quarter Final Stage.
In an entertaining game, which ended in a draw, the Bridge raised 2 green flags from placed balls by goalkeeper Mark Sheedy with the other goal coming from Adam Murray. The Bridge were unlucky not to have come out as winners in this game, having created several goal chances that ended up in points or near misses due to the efforts of Adam Murray, Sean Lynch and Callum Phelan. Sean Lynch contributed 8 points from frees while young Callum Phelan was busy and contributed 2 points form midfield. The Kilmurry backline of the Breen brothers and Cillian Custy, backed up by fellow Kilmurry native, Mark Sheedy did well as did newcomer to the Intermediate ranks, Captain Caimin Morey fresh after welcoming a new arrival to the household (Congrats Caimin and Mary!).
Next up for the intermediates is Bodyke on Friday 22nd August in Broadford at 7pm.
Sixmilebridge Team & Scorers
Mark Sheedy (2-0), Oisin Breen, Cillian Custy, Adam Breen, Seamus O'Connell, Caimin Morey, Dara Fitzgerald, Dylan Downes, Callum Phelan (0-2), Cathal Lynch, Luke Keogh (Sub Dara Casey), Cathaoir Agnew, Paul Corry (0-2), Sean Lynch (0-9, 8f), Adam Murray (1-1)
