Kilmaley 1-21 Sixmilebridge 1-8

A disappointing day in Cusack Park for our Senior Hurlers yesterday when they exited the Championship at the hands of a well drilled Brian Culbert managed Kilmaley.
11 first half wides playing with the wind along with conceding a soft goal saw us trail by 1-11 to 0-04 at half time. In fairness to the management they sprung the changes in the second half with 3 new bodies introduced at half time all of which brought a new energy for the second half but the Kilmaley men were growing with confidence as the game went on and they finished strong to win out by 13 points.
The injury losses of Cathal Malone, Barry Fitzpatrick, Leon Kelly and Colm Flynn who all played in the earlier rounds was hard felt but it must be said the young guns this year including Fiachra O'Braoin, Matthew O'Halloran, David Kennedy and Sean McNamara have really made a huge difference to the team.
Scorers for Kilmaley: Mikey O’Malley 0-7 (6f, 1’65); Tom O’Rourke 1-1; Brian McNamara 0-3, Mikey O’Neill 0-3; Conor Cleary 0-2, Sean O’Loughlin 0-2; Sean Kennedy 0-1, Tommy Barry 0-1, Bryan O’Loughlin 0-1 (f)
