Clare Gaa / CLG An Clár, is now inviting entries for the upcoming Scór na nÓg competitions (Secondary School Students).
Scór has been revitalised in the county over the past 3 years with almost 60 clubs participating, inclusive of Peil na mBan and Camógie.
Scór Sinsir (Adult) and Scór na bPáistí (Primary School Kids) have already attracted a large number of entries this year and we hope our club will be in a position to participate in at least 1 of the 8 comórtaisí on offer at Scór na nÓg.
All competitions are for secondary school students up to minor (U.17) level but should a student from 6th class at primary level be required, (to make up a set etc.), allowances for same will be permitted.
For the record the 8 competitions are:
Amhránaíocht (Solo Singing)
Bailead Ghrúpa (Ballad Group)
Aithriseoireacht/Scealaíocht (Recitation/Storytelling)
Ceol Uirlise (Trad music group)
Nuachleas (Novelty Act)
Rince Seit (Set Dancing)
Rince Foirne (Irish Dancing)
Trath na gCeist (Quiz)
Saturday October 18th has presently been pencilled in for the Scór na nÓg county final at Cois na hAbhna in Ennis. The winners of all 8 competitions will go forward to a Munster semi-final in November.
If anyone is interested in participating in any of the above competitions please get in comtact with the Clubs Oifigeach Gaeilge (Irish Officer) PJ Mac Ghiolla Phadraig (PJ Fitzpatrick) at 086 8207613 or pmacgiolla@yahoo.ie
