Congratulations to our Minor Hurlers who were crowned Champions for the 14th time today in Cusack Park when they overcame Clarecastle

Minor A Championship (14) - 1970, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2011, 2025.

What makes the title win more special is the team have gone through the Championship in 2025 undefeated and in fact have gone through the majority of their underage Championship campaigns undefeated having won the U14A (2022), U15A (2023) and now the U17A (2025). Their only major loss was by the minimum of margins to the eventual winners at U16 in 2024.

The Minor academy team were also crowned county champions recently when they defeated St Josephs Doora Barefield.

Also there were 2 players who saw action today and a further 4 on the panel who also won Clare U15A and Clare Feile titles this year when they also went through all competitions undefeated. This in itself is some record with 6 of these boys being involved in 20+ Championship games in 2025 and coming out undefeated.

The day also see us win our first minor title in 14 years and only our second title in 24 years which is indeed a famine for the club - but the future is indeed bright with our U14s contesting the County final last week and our U15s and U17s crowned Champions in 2025.

To cap it all off the cup is named after Wille Chaplin and his Grand Nephew Rory played a big part today as well as his nephew Adrian who coached the team since they walked in the gates of O'Garney park back in 2012.
