As our fellow parishioners travel the country and world and mingle with fellow Irish folk the question is always asked where you from? As soon as you say Sixmilebridge in Clare there is always an association back to hurling and legends like Fitzy, Stack, Gilly and Noel Casey etc.

The next question is normally "did you play Yourself" and the answer is more than likely YES at some stage in your life but to be able to say "I might be out of the Bridge but my heart is still there and I'm proud to still be a member of the Bridge GAA".

Our club membership packages cater for everyone and the first overseas package for 2018 was purchased recently by Rory Shanahan who is now domiciled in Edinburgh. Rory won county championships at all grades for the club including Senior in 2013 and was one of the main entertainers with his Shaggy rendetions after county finals. Well done to Rory (Photo above when Rory captainted U21s to glory in 2009)for showing his pride in his home club.

Speaking to SixmilebridgeGAA.com earlier thie week Shanahan commented "I have a lifetime of memories from my days hurling with the Bridge and friends for life so am delighted to still say I'm a member of the club. While I am across the water I am always up to date on whats going on in the club through the Clubify app and love reading reports about the Bridge successes."
