Sixmilebridge 3-14 Corofin 1-13

While everyone was at home enjoying their Easter treats, our intermediate team were in round 3 action away in Corofin. Weather conditions were dry but cold, with a strong wind blowing straight down the field. Whilst the bridge played with the aid if the breeze in the first half it was the hosts who were quickest to settle and they raced into an 2pts to no score lead. The bridge soon hit their stride and dominated the remainder of the half, leading at half time by 3-09 to 0-04. The goals coming from Sean Lynch and Cathaoir Agnew.

A much changed Corofin team took to the field for the second half and they reeled off the first 6 pts of the half before a Sean Lynch free settled the bridge. It was score for score for the remainder of the half with the bridge running out 3-14 to 1-13 victors.

While the result and performance were both very good, one must bare in mind that 10 of the Corofin team that saw action today also played league football yesterday evening, no doubt impacting their ability to perform at their maximum. Stand out performer's for the winner were Cillian Custy and Cathaoir Agnew who contributed 2-03 from play. Next up is a home match against Bodyke on Saturday week the 14th.
